Womens T20 World Cup: The Women’s T20 World Cup is at its final stage. Teams like Australia and South Africa from Group-A and India and England from Group-B have been able to make it to the semi-finals. On Monday, India made it to the semi-finals for the third time in a row, defeating Ireland by 5 runs in a Duckworth-Lewis Niamey.
Team India has reached the semi-finals earlier in the year 2018, 2020 and now in 2023. India, led by Harmanpreet, will now play their next match against Group-A’s number-1 team Australia on Thursday, 23 February. Talk about Group-A that Australia is at number one in its group with 4 wins. The Kangaroo team has not lost any match in the World Cup so far.
On the same Tuesday, hosts South Africa beat Bangladesh by 10 wickets and confirmed their semi-final ticket. Looking at Group-B, England have retained the top position by winning all their four matches. With the same 3 wins, Team India is at number two.
The first semi-final match is to be played on February 23. Group-A’s top team Australia will face Group-B’s second number team India. On February 24, Group-A’s second number team South Africa will take on Group-B’s top team England.
After winning the semi-finals, the team will directly reach the final, which will be played on February 26 at the Newlands Ground in Cape Town. India is only 2 steps away from winning the World Cup, in the year 2020, Team India has been the runner-up.
