PM Modi’s US Visit: Strengthening Relations with US, Gift Exchange with Bidens Marks Special Bond

Prime Minister Narendra Modi is currently in the United States, where he is engaging in various high-level meetings and engagements. During his visit, PM Modi met with US President Joe Biden and First Lady Jill Biden at the White House, marking a deepening of the US-India partnership.

In a twitter post, PM Narendra Modi thanked his hosts, President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden for the warm welcome in White House. He said they had conversations on various topics.

The visit commenced with PM Modi and President Biden delivering remarks and taking questions, followed by an address to the joint session of the US Congress. This is PM Modi’s fourth major address to the Indian-American community since assuming office in 2014.

Notably, PM Modi also engaged with prominent American companies, including Micron Technology, General Electric, and Applied Materials, inviting them to collaborate and invest in India. Discussions focused on boosting semiconductor manufacturing, creating a skilled workforce, and exploring opportunities in the aviation and renewable energy sectors.

This visit has encouraged American companies to increase their investments in India as they seek to diversify their supply chains and reduce reliance on China.

In a gesture of goodwill, PM Modi presented special gifts to President Biden and First Lady Jill Biden. President Biden received a sandalbox containing a Ganesha idol and an oil lamp, symbolizing the Sahasra Poorna Chandrodayam celebration ritual.

The First Lady was gifted a 7.5-carat eco-friendly, lab-grown diamond, representing India’s 75 years of freedom and sustainable international relations.

The visit also included an intimate dinner hosted by the Bidens at the White House, featuring President Biden’s favorite foods, pasta, and ice cream. The evening was accompanied by a musical tribute showcasing the diverse regions of India.

PM Modi’s visit has garnered attention and sparked enthusiasm among American companies, with recent data highlighting the increasing trend of US investment in India. Notable companies such as Tesla, Boeing, Amazon, Apple, and Walmart have already made significant investments in India, contributing to the country’s economic growth.

As PM Modi’s visit strengthens the US-India partnership and paves the way for enhanced economic collaboration, it signifies the importance of bilateral relations between the two nations.
