The Ladli Behna Yojana, initiated by Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has encountered over 6,000 issues, as reported by the Department of Women and Child Development. These issues have been received online, and additional concerns may arise once offline grievances are taken into account. The deadline for registering complaints was May 15.

A thorough review of these issues will be conducted by May 30, and the final list will be published on May 31. On June 10, the state government will credit an amount of Rs. 1,000 into the accounts of eligible sisters. From thereon, the transfer of funds will occur on the 10th of every month. It is worth mentioning that more than 12.5 million sisters have already registered for the scheme as of April 30.

Under the instructions of Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan, the necessary preparations have been made to deposit the funds into the sisters’ accounts starting next month. Collectors have been directed to ensure that the amount is credited to the sisters’ bank accounts on June 10 under all circumstances. The Chief Minister expressed gratitude to the eligible sisters for their letters sent in support of the scheme.

During a recent review meeting, Chief Minister Shivraj Singh Chouhan noted that over 90% of the applications in Jhabua district have already undergone the necessary verification of Aadhaar linkage and active DBT accounts. The provisional list is available on the portal and should also be publicized in the gram panchayats. The received complaints regarding the applications should be thoroughly investigated to ensure no eligible sisters are denied the benefits of the scheme. It is important that the sisters face no unnecessary difficulties and are not required to visit the bank. Feedback from the collectors was also obtained during the meeting.

Budget approved for the scheme:

The Cabinet has approved a budget exceeding INR 41,923 crores for the three-year period (financial year 2023-24 to 2025-26) under the Ladli Behna Yojana. An amount of INR 1,250 crores will be transferred to the sisters’ accounts within a month, and a total of INR 15,000 crores will be transferred throughout the year.
