Bhopal: Now gram panchayats will be able to give permission to cut trees in their area on the report of Patwari. Earlier this authority was with Tehsildar. For this, the Revenue Department has made changes in the MP Land Revenue Code Miscellaneous Rules 2020.

It is remarkable that non-fruitful small thorny trees are planted in the fields of villages and other places. Earlier, the villagers had to visit Tehsildar’s office to cut them. This used to cause a lot of wastage of money and time. That is why this new arrangement has been made.

It has been said in the new provision that permission to cut trees on the land held by the farmer will be given by the Gram Panchayat and the district collector will give permission to cut trees on non-encroachment land (such land which is government). For this, an online application will have to be made on the entire portal and the application from the portal will go to the Forest Department’s portal and from there the TP will come online for the transportation of the cut trees.
