MP Weather Update: Heatwave Grips Madhya Pradesh, Khargone Records Scorching 46 Degrees Celsius

In Madhya Pradesh, intense heatwave conditions prevail, particularly in Malwa-Nimar, Gwalior-Chambal, and Bundelkhand regions. Khargone recorded temperatures reaching as high as 46 degrees Celsius, while Bhopal and Gwalior crossed 43 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, Khargone was even hotter than cities in Rajasthan and Gujarat. However, some relief is expected from the heatwave starting Tuesday, with a possibility of light rainfall in Gwalior, Rewa-Chambal regions. Other areas may experience cloudy weather, but the heat will persist. Recent rainfall was reported in Guna, Jabalpur, and Sagar districts.

Nighttime Temperatures and Hotspots:

Nighttime temperatures have also been soaring in Madhya Pradesh. Damoh recorded the highest minimum temperature, followed by Narmadapuram and Chhindwara. Pachmarhi reported a minimum temperature of 25 degrees Celsius. The lowest minimum temperature was recorded in Malajkhand at 20.1 degrees Celsius.

Khargone Remains Hotter Than Rajasthan and Gujarat:

On Sunday, Khargone recorded a scorching temperature of 44.8 degrees Celsius, surpassing cities in Rajasthan and Gujarat. Jaisalmer, Bheelwara, Kota (Rajasthan), and Ahmedabad (Gujarat) reached temperatures up to 44.4 degrees Celsius. Khargone had previously experienced 46 degrees Celsius on May 13, making it the hottest city in India and the fourth hottest in the world. Ratlam, Khajuraho, Shajapur, and Nauganwa also witnessed high temperatures. Bhopal saw a temperature of 43.3 degrees Celsius in May for the first time. Gwalior registered a temperature of 43.6 degrees Celsius, while Indore and Jabalpur exceeded 40-41 degrees Celsius. On Sunday, Khargone, Dhar, Ratlam, Guna, Gwalior, Bhind, Murena, and Shyopurkalan experienced the heatwave, while other districts also felt the impact.

Heatwave Continues Today:

Today, Gwalior, Khargone, Dhar, Ratlam, Guna, Bhind, Murena, and Shyopurkalan continue to experience the heatwave. Monday also brings hot weather to these areas. The increasing heat in Madhya Pradesh can be attributed to the rising temperatures in Rajasthan and Gujarat.
