Maharashtra Governor’s name fixed, Captain Amarinder Singh given green signal
The current governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari expressed his desire to step down a few days back
The ongoing speculation about the name of the next Governor of Maharashtra seems to have come to an end. Former Punjab CM Captain Amarinder Singh will be the next Governor of Maharashtra. According to the reports, Captain Amarinder Singh has been informed about the order.
The current governor of Maharashtra, Bhagat Singh Koshyari, had expressed his desire to step down a few days back. It was only after this that the round of discussions on the name of Captain Amarinder started. Captain had joined BJP some time back. Earlier, he left the Congress and formed the party Punjab Lok Congress (PLC), which later merged with the BJP.
Recently, Amarinder Singh has been included in the 83-member National Executive of BJP. His stature is continuously increasing in BJP. And now he is being made the governor of Maharashtra.
Captain Amarinder Singh’s name also came up for discussion for the post of Vice President. However, later the BJP made Jagdeep Dhankhar, the governor of West Bengal, its candidate.
