MV Ganga Vilas will start its journey from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and travel approximately 3,200 kms in 51 days to reach Dibrugarh in Assam crossing 27 river systems in India and Bangladesh.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off MV Ganga Vilas, the world’s longest river cruise between Varanasi-Dibrugarh on January 13. MV Ganga Vilas will start its journey from Varanasi in Uttar Pradesh and will travel approximately 3,200 kms in 51 days to reach Dibrugarh in Assam crossing 27 river systems in India and Bangladesh. 32 Swiss tourists will also be part of the inaugural voyage of ‘MV Ganga Vilas’. The journey is of 52 days and the cost of the trip will be around Rs 13 lakh, with an average fare of around Rs 25,000 per person per night. Luxury triple deck cruise ship MV Ganga Vilas has reached Varanasi from Kolkata on Monday.

The 51-day cruise is planned with visits to 50 tourist destinations such as World Heritage Sites, National Parks, River Ghats and Patna in Bihar, Sahibganj in Jharkhand, Kolkata in West Bengal, Dhaka in Bangladesh and Guwahati in Assam. In line with PM Modi’s efforts to promote river cruise tourism, the launch of this service will unlock the vast untapped potential of river cruise and usher in a new era of river cruise tourism for India.
