Over the next few days, the rains will bring much-needed rain to the central, western, and northern regions.

The central, western, and northern regions will likely receive much-needed rain over the coming few days as the stalled southwest monsoon in India picks up speed this weekend, according to the India Meteorological Department.

The nation as a whole experienced a 33% decrease in June’s rainfall due to the monsoon’s weekly delay, with some regions experiencing a 94% decrease. By June 25, the western branch of the monsoon would typically have made significant progress into Gujarat, but this year Cyclone Biparjoy has slowed its advance by absorbing all the moisture that was nearby the Konkan coast.
With June accounting for 16–17% of monsoon rainfall, the agricultural sector is extremely important. Farmers start planting kharif crops during this time after the monsoon season. Generally, sowing takes place in June and July, though this can vary depending on local climates.
